According to multiple sources, the Anaheim Ducks have acquired LW Luca Caputi from Toronto in exchange for LW Nicolas Deschamps.
Caputi was ranked as Toronto's eighth-best prospect by The Hockey News before this season, according to a tweet by NHL.com's Curtis Zupke. Caputi made his NHL debut in 2008-09 with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and has appeared in 154 career AHL contests with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Toronto.
Deschamps, 21, was drafted by Anaheim in the 2008 NHL entry Draft in the second round and appeared in 31 games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season in what was his first full professional season.
The Ducks have also sent LW Jean-Francois Jacques back to AHL Syracuse, according to a tweet by the Orange County Register's Eric Stephens.
Jacques has been sent up and down from Syracuse for the past two weeks while the Ducks burn off his five-game NHL suspension for a preseason fight, according to Associated Press.
