The Pepperdine Waves fell behind big early on Thursday night at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, and proceeded to lose on the road, 65-56 to the San Diego Toreros. It was the eighth consecutive defeat for Pepperdine, who fell to 3-7 on the road this season, and fell to 1-8 in West Coast Conference play.
San Diego (8-12, 3-5) built a 16-point lead in the first half, and never trailed after Pepperdine held a 4-3 lead just three minutes into the game. Dennis Kramer scored 14 points to lead the Toreros, making five of six shots from the field. Christopher Anderson added 13 points and five assists for San Diego.
The Waves (7-13, 1-8) shot just 38.5% from the field Thursday night. Taylor Darby led Pepperdine with 15 points and seven rebounds. Pepperdine won all three games against San Diego last season, including a win in the first round of the WCC tournament. The Waves return home Saturday night to host the Santa Clara Broncos at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.
