The Loyola Marymount Lions continued their road romp through the West Coast Conference, upsetting the BYU Cougars 82-68 Thursday night in Provo. Loyola Marymount is now 4-0 on the road in the WCC and 6-2 on the road on the season.
Anthony Ireland scored 27 points, including 12-of-14 from the free throw line, to lead the Lions, while Drew Viney scored 21 points for Loyola Marymount. The two leading scorers combined to make 14 of 20 shots from the field (70%) on the night.
Noah Hartsock scored 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting to lead BYU. Brandon Davies scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Cougars, who shot just 38.3% from the field on the night, including a devastating two for 25 from three-point range.
The Lions led 40-34 at halftime, and led the entire second half. BYU cut the lead to just three at 61-58 with 5:55 remaining in the game, but LMU ended the game on a 21-10 run. Loyola Marymount continues their WCC play on Monday night on the road against the Santa Clara Broncos.
