As first round play continues at the 2012 Humana Challenge, Camilo Villegas and David Toms stand alone as the leaders in the clubhouse after each shooting a 63 on Thursday.
14 other players are within three shots of the lead, including nine Americans.
Villegas is a three time winner on the PGA Tour, but has not won an event since March of 2010, when he scored a victory at The Honda Classic. Toms has 13 career PGA Tour wins, and won the 2001 PGA Championship.
Phil Mickelson struggled through his opening round, recording a 74 and twice double bogeying. He is tied for 132nd place in the field of 144, and needs to improve in Round 2 or risk missing the cut.
The Humana Challenge, formerly known as the Bob Hope Classic, is the third event of the 2012 PGA Tour Season. Major competition begins on April 2nd at Augusta National, the annual site of The Masters.
