The 2012 Humana Challenge gets underway Thursday in La Quinta, California, and the one popular pro-am formerly known as the Bob Hope Classic has 144 amateurs to go with its 144 PGA Tour professionals. Beginning Thursday, all 288 players will open the tournament on three different courses, the Palmer Private Course at PGA West, the Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West, and La Quinta Country Club.
Former President Bill Clinton, whose charity organization is an event partner, will golf in Saturday's third round with Greg Norman. Other celebrities at the event include NBA Hall of Famer Julius Erving, actors Morgan Freeman, Don Cheadle, Billy Crudup, and Craig T. Nelson, and musicians Smokey Robinson and Alice Cooper, to name a few.
The celebrities will partner up with PGA Tour professionals in the first three rounds on a rotating basis:
