NFL Week 2 Picks: Lots Of Road Winners

Now that we have some semblance of an idea what is going on in the NFL, it feels safe enough to dip into the waters to make some picks. Here are my choices for Week 2 of the NFL, with point spreads courtesy of Bodog:

Sunday Early Games

  • Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets (-9): The Jets should win, but a ton of their games (13 of their last 20) have been decided by eight points or less. The pick: Jaguars
  • Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints (-7): Chicago completely surprised me with their Week 1 trouncing of Atlanta, so I find it hard to resist taking the points, even against Drew Brees & company in New Orleans. The pick: Bears
  • Oakland Raiders at Buffalo Bills (-3½): As much as I want to pick the Raiders, western teams making the trip east have fared terribly in recent seasons. Prepare yourself for a world with a 2-0 Bills team. The pick: Bills
  • Arizona Cardinals at Washington Redskins (-4): Cam Newton completely torched the Cardinals' defense last week, but Arizona held on for a home win. In the battle of Kevin Kolb vs. Rex Grossman, nobody wins, but I lean toward taking the points. The pick: Cardinals
  • Baltimore Ravens (-6½) at Tennessee Titans: Baltimore looked awesome in Week 1, while Tennessee lost to Jacksonville. The pick: Ravens
  • Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers (-14½): Look for Pittsburgh to get back on track after their drubbing in Baltimore. The pick: Steelers
  • Green Bay Packers (-10½) at Carolina Panthers: That's a lot of points to be giving on the road, but look for Aaron Rodgers and the champs to win easily. The pick: Packers
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Minnesota Vikings (-3): I have no idea who will win this game, but I'll side with Adrian Peterson at home. The pick: Vikings
  • Cleveland Browns (-3) at Indianapolis Colts: It's going to be an ugly year in Indianapolis. The pick: Browns
  • Kansas City Chiefs at Detroit Lions (-8½): It feels weird seeing the Lions favored by so many points, but the Chiefs were abysmal at home against Buffalo. The pick: Lions
