UCLA Bruins Fall Practice: Brett Hundley Expected Back In 1-2 Weeks

UCLA Bruins true freshman QB Brett Hundley could be back for fall practice in a few weeks after undergoing knee surgery; Hundley told a local reporter that he should be back soon to challenge Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut. For more on UCLA football, go to Bruins Nation.

Brett Hundley is the hope of the future for UCLA Bruins football, but the freshman quarterback looked like he was in bad shape this year. He suffered from the terrible disease of "being a UCLA Bruins quarterback", and thus was susceptible to season-threatening injuries. It's an awful condition with no known cure, and the list of players afflicted continues to grow.

Rahshaun Haylock of KCBS/KCAL/Fox Sports West managed to talk with the young QB today, and was told that Hundley will be back in short order. His recovery will only last 1 to 2 weeks (as opposed to the 4-6 weeks originally suggested), which means he can be right back in the thick of things when it comes to fall camp. With both Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut fighting each other for the top spot, Hundley's young and promising presence could provide them both with some much necessary competition under center.
