USC Football Fall Practice Day 2 Notes: Lane Kiffin Impressed With Aundrey Walker

Fall practice is underway for the USC Trojans, and Friday was the second full day of camp for Lane Kiffin and the Trojans. USC opens its season in four weeks, hosting the Minnesota Golden Gophers on September 3. The Trojans return 13 starters from last season, though running back Marc Tyler won't be playing in the opening game.

Tyler was suspended for the first game, and possibly longer. However, while the tailback is unable to practice with the team during his suspension, Kiffin said Tyler is still working out, at different times from the team, and is occasionally monitored by the staff.

The offensive line will be key, and could be a young unit, as true freshman Aundrey Walker and Cyrus Hobbi making their mark in practice. On Friday, Kiffin was particularly impressed with Walker, saying, "There is trememndous talent there. His feet, at 364 pounds, they don't make many humans like that."

Kiffin said there are currently 102 players in camp, including 79 on scholarship.
