Kobe Bryant to Meet Beşiktaş President in Los Angeles on Thursday

Even though a number of reports have claimed that the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant will not look to play in Turkey if the NBA lockout bleeds into the regular season, he will still have a sit down with Beşiktaş President Yıldırım Demirören in L.A. on Thursday, according to Ismail Senol via Twitter.

Kobe is one of the most internationally known athletes on the planet, and expanding his market globally wouldn't be a huge shock. One of his largest sponsors outside of Nike is Turkish Airlines, which also is sponsor of Beşiktaş, leading some to believe that a move to play in Turkey would be savvy one Kobe's part. His fame is no bigger than it is in China though, and playing there could merit Bryant a lot of cash and a lot of fans while the NBA is sorting out it's problems with the disgruntled player's union.

The meeting is set for 1:30 pm PT at an undisclosed location in the greater Los Angeles area.
