Robbie Keane's Visa Approved, Available Saturday

The Los Angeles Galaxy announced this afternoon that Robbie Keane’s P-1 visa has been approved. This means the LA Galaxy can officially add him to the team roster. He’ll be eligible to make his MLS debut on Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Robbie Keane is scheduled to fly out to Los Angeles on Thursday, before training with the Galaxy for the first time every on Friday at 10am. Keane is going to be issued Edson Buddle’s old number 14. He’ll be speaking to the media in a press conference after practice on Friday.

Keane is tied for 10th in the Premiere League all time for goals, with 123 while playing for Coventry City, Leeds, Liverpool, Tottenham, and West Ham. He’ll be the Galaxy’s third Designated Player, occupying a spot vacated by Juan Pablo Angel’s departure to Chivas USA.

Keane hails from Dublin, and is still a member of the Irish National Football Team.
