The UCLA men's soccer team is off to a good start before their season has even begun after being named the Pac-12 favorites in a recent conference coaches poll. The Bruins received five out of the six possible first place votes, and are looking for their seventh Pac-12 title in the team's history. Cal received the other first place vote, and placed second in the coaches poll behind UCLA. Washington, San Diego State, Stanford, and Oregon State rounded out the rest of the poll in that order.
↵UCLA is coming off a successful 2010 campaign that saw them reach the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals, finishing off the year with a 16-5-1 record. They will be returning all 11 starters, including sophomore midfielder Kelyn Rowe, a College Soccer News Preseason First Team All-American. The 2011 Pac-12 season opens August 26-28, with UCLA heading to Louisville on the 27th to take on the Cardinals. Kick off is set for 4 pm PT.
