We're deep into the offseason, which means teams are starting to feel some pain on the practice field. The USC Trojans have not been immune to the suffering the past several seasons, and in fact have been on the extreme end of pain.
One of the main concerns for USC this season is offensive line, and it seems like their depth took a significant hit when Giovanni Di Poalo (who was listed as a backup guard on the two-deep for USC) learned he needed shoulder surgery and would be out for the season. Di Poalo's absence might mean that Cyrus Hobbi or Patrick Kim climb up and take his place.
Other notable injury issues: Starting linebacker Chris Galippo had an MRI exam on his shoulder; tests returned negative. It looks like it's only a bruise and should heal up in a few days...Brice Butler sprained his right ankle and was on crutches all night. X-rays were negative.
