The USC Trojans aren't eligible for postseason play this year, but that doesn't mean they aren't one of the top college football teams in the country. The preseason ratings from Jeff Sagarin were released on Monday, and USC is rated the 10th best team in the country. The Trojans are the second-highest rated team in the Pac-12, behind No. 2 Oregon. Here are the Sagarin top 10:
- Alabama
- Oregon
- Ohio St
- TCU
- Oklahoma
- Florida
- Boise St
- LSU
- Virginia Tech
- USC
Other Pac-12 ratings include No. 12 Stanford, No. 20 Utah, No. 23 Oregon St., No. 27 California, No. 31 Arizona, and No. 34 Arizona State. The UCLA Bruins are No. 53.
USC is ineligible for the USA Today coaches poll, and thus wasn't ranked in the preseason poll last week. The Trojans travel to South Bend on October 22 to play Notre Dame, who are ranked No. 18 in the coaches poll while No. 33 in the Sagarin ratings.
