LA Galaxy Prepare To Extinguish Fire

The Los Angeles Galaxy (9-2-9, 36 pts) come into tonight's match riding an eleven game unbeaten streak; but one with six draws and three of them scoreless. While the Chicago Fire (2-4-12, 18 pts) don't come in as an offensive juggernaut, the Galaxy are having a tough time shaking those who are worried the team is headed for a slump. The Galaxy are coming off their latest scoreless draw against Seattle on July 4th. The Fire, who are competing for the title Kings of the Draw, come off their league leading twelfth draw against Chivas USA, a 1-1 affair. Both teams will be looking for a better result at the Home Depot Center.

David Beckham, Omar Gonzalez, and AJ DeLaGarza are all listed as questionable. Beckham went 22 minutes last match, and will likely come off the bench again. Gonzalez went down with a left hip pointer last match and will likely be a game time decision. AJ DeLaGarza went down and looked to be suffering a concussion last match; he's much more doubtful.

Last time, at Toyota Park, Omar Gonzalez scored the winning goal in the second half to give the Galaxy a 1-2 victory. However, the Fire have come away from Home Depot Center with victories on two of their last three visits, winning a wild 2-3 match last year, and 0-1 in 2008. Bruce Arena has a 8-4-2 record all time against Chicago.
