Dodgers Seek Third Straight Shutout In Afternoon Affair With Padres

The Dodgers go for their third straight win, and their third straight shutout on Saturday afternoon as they battle the Padres in the second game of a three-game series, on Fox. Rubby De La Rosa starts for the Dodgers, looking for his third straight outing of seven innings. Aaron Harang starts for San Diego.

The Dodgers won Friday night in a game that didn't see them put a run in scoring position until the eighth inning. A Rafael Furcal RBI single gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead, a margin that held even though the Padres loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the ninth inning. San Diego was 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

De La Rosa has lost each of his last four starts, but he has pitched very well in his last two. He has lasted seven innings for two straight starts, allowing four total runs. On the season he is 3-4 with a 4.31 ERA, including 2-4 with a 4.67 ERA as a starter.

Harang is 7-2 with a 3.71 ERA for the Padres this season. He beat the Dodgers in San Diego on April 10, allowing two runs, one earned, in six innings. The Dodgers are 4-3 against San Diego this season, including 2-2 at Dodger Stadium.

Today's 1:10 p.m. game will be televised by Fox. For more news and information on the Dodgers, or on today's game, be sure to read the SB Nation blog True Blue LA.
