Angels, Tyler Chatwood Look To Extend 4-Game Win Streak

The Angels conclude their 3-game series with the Detroit Tigers Wednesday afternoon, and look to extend their modest 4-game winning streak.  With Tuesday night's 1-0 win, the Angels have won 7 straight series and remained tied with the Texas Rangers atop the AL West.  During their current hot streak, the Halos are 15-5 and winners of 7 of their last 8.

Tyler Chatwood (5-5, 3.83 ERA) looks to continue the Angels string of outstanding pitching performances when he takes the hill against Detroit.  The rookie right-hander will have to improve on his last start where he allowed 4 runs and 12 hits to the Dodgers last Friday.  The Angels as a team have held opponents to a .145 batting average and one or fewer runs in their last 4 games.

Detroit will turn to veteran right-hander Brad Penny (5-6, 4.43 ERA) to get them back on track.  The Tigers have lost 6 of their last 8, and are a game and a half behind the Cleveland Indians in the AL Central.  Penny went seven innings in his last start, allowing one run to the SanFrancisco Gieants last Friday.
