Dodgers Look For More Home Cooking Saturday Against Diamondbacks

The Dodgers have played well at home of late, and look to continue more of the same Saturday night in the second game of their weekend series against the Diamondbacks. The Dodgers have won nine of their last 11 games at Dodger Stadium, including last night's 9-5 win. Chad Billingsley gets the start today looking for some of that home cooking.

Billingsley has allowed zero or one run in seven of his last nine home starts, and on the season is 5-3 with a 2.31 ERA at Dodger Stadium. He struck out 10 Nationals in seven innings last Sunday at home, and retired 21 of the last 22 batters he faced.

Matt Kemp has been hot of late with a six-game hitting streak. He hit a three-run home run Friday night and also had a two-run single, and leads the National League with 80 RBI this season. During his hitting streak Kemp is hitting .417/.444/.667.

Micah Owings, known more for his hitting than his pitching, gets the start for Arizona today. The .289/.317/.521 career hitter has nine home runs in 208 career plate appearances, but this season he is making a name for himself on the mound. Pitching mostly in relief this year (17 games, three starts), Owings is 4-0 with a 2.36 ERA in 34 1/3 innings.

Tonight's 7:10 p.m. PDT game will be televised by KCAL. For more news and information on the Dodgers, or tonight's game, be sure to read the SB Nation blog True Blue LA.
