Angels Seek Series Win Over Orioles

The Angels look to win their 10th series in their last 11 Sunday morning, facing the Orioles in the rubber game of a three-game set at Camden Yards. Rookie Tyler Chatwood gets the call for the Angels, facing Jeremy Guthrie for Baltimore. The Orioles have not won a series since capturing two of three from the Reds in Baltimore from June 24-26.

Chatwood is 5-6 with a 3.71 ERA this season, and has suffered from poor run support. The Angels have scored 12 runs in his last eight starts, and in Chatwood's six losses this season they haven't scored a single run with Chatwood in the game.

Guthrie has a respectable 4.35 ERA on the season, but just a 4-13 record to show for it. He leads the major leagues in losses, just as he did in 2009, when he was 10-17 with a 5.04 ERA. Guthrie in his career is 3-2 against the Angels with a 4.21 ERA in eight games, including seven starts.

The Angels have lost seven of their past eight games against Baltimore, dating back to last season. Mark Trumbo's 18 home runs lead all major league rookies this season. Vernon Wells has homered in each of the first two games of this series, and has 12 home runs and 28 RBI in his last 33 contests.

Today's 10:35 a.m. PDT game will be televised by Fox Sports West. For more news and information on the Angels, or on today's game, be sure to read the SB Nation blog Halos Heaven.
