Lilly, Dodgers Seek Series Win Over Diamondbacks In Afternoon Affair In Phoenix

The Dodgers send Ted Lilly to the mound Sunday in the rubber game of their series against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field. Daniel Hudson gets the start for Arizona. The Dodgers had their five-game winning streak snapped Saturday night with their 3-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Lilly is 6-9 with a 4.79 ERA this season, though he has made a rebound of sorts in his last two starts. Lilly had elbow tenderness that made him unable to throw a bullpen session in between starts for a stretch in June, and he had a span of three starts during which he allowed 18 runs in 14 2/3 innings. However, in his last two starts, Lilly has allowed four runs in 11 innings, with four walks and 10 strikeouts.

Matt Kemp has homered in consecutive games for the fourth time this season. Kemp's shot off the center field wall last night, a 450-foot blast that was Kemp's second longest of the year, was his 24th of the season, tying him with Lance Berkman of the Cardinals for the National League lead. Kemp's 72 RBI are one behind Prince Fielder for the NL lead.

Daniel Hudson, who starts for the Diamondbacks today, is 9-5 with a 3.74 ERA this season. He has faced the Dodgers once in his career, last September 25 in Arizona, and allowed two runs in 8 2/3 innings for the win. Arizona is in second place in the NL West, three and a half games behind San Francisco.

Today's 1:10 p.m. PDT game will be televised by Prime TIcket. For more news and information on the Dodgers, or on today's game, be sure to read the SB Nation blog True Blue LA.
