NCAA Baseball Tournament: UCLA Shutout By San Francisco, 3-0

San Francisco's Kyle Zimmer threw a four-hit shutout, beating the UCLA Bruins 3-0 Friday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium on the first day of regionals of the 2011 NCAA Baseball Tournament. Gerrit Cole struck out 11 for the Bruins, but also allowed three runs and 11 hits to take the loss. San Francisco will face UC Irvine on Saturday, with UCLA playing Fresno St. in an elimination game.

Earlier Friday, No. 3 seed UC Irvine beat the No. 2 seed Fresno St. handily, 12-6. Here is Saturday's schedule for the Los Angeles Region (all times PDT):

2 p.m. - Game 3: UCLA vs. Fresno State

The Bruins will send 2011 NCAA Player of the Year Trevor Bauer to the mound in an elimination game.

6 p.m. - Game 4: UC Irvine vs. San Francisco

The Anteaters and Dons vie for a spot in the regional final, which begins on Sunday
