Dodgers Go For Sweep Of Tigers In Afternoon Affair At Dodger Stadium

The Dodgers go for their fourth straight win Wednesday afternoon and a three-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers at Dodger Stadium. After a run of great pitching -- the Dodgers have allowed one run total in their last three games -- the Dodgers turn to Ted Lilly, who has struggled mightily under the sun this season. Lilly is 0-3 with a 6.63 ERA in five daytime starts this year, and the Dodgers have lost all five games.

Lilly is 5-6 with a 4.26 ERA this season, and is ninth in the National League with a 3.53 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He will be opposed by Rick Porcello. The 22-year old right-hander is 6-5 this season with a 4.18 ERA in 13 starts, and is coming off his worst outing of the season, allowing nine runs (six earned) in three innings at Coors Field against the Rockies.

This is the third interleague series that Detroit has played at Dodger Stadium, and the Dodgers have won all three, capturing six of the eight games. Both teams will wear throwback uniforms from the 1944 season today.

Today's 12:10 p.m. PDT game will be televised by Prime Ticket. For more news and information on the Dodgers, or on today's game, be sure to read the SB Nation blog True Blue LA.
