The Angels look to complete their first 3-game series sweep since the second week of the season Wednesday night in Seattle when Ervin Santana (3-6, 4.37 ERA) takes the mound.
Santana hopes to continue what his rotation-mates Dan Haren and Jered Weaver did during the first two games of their 12-game road trip. Both Haren and Weaver were able to get wins once they received some run-support from the Halo offense - Haren won Monday night 6-3 and Weaver pitched a complete-game shutout Tuesday night 4-0. To get the win, Santana must limit the number of home runs he's allowed his last 3 games. In that period, the right-hander has allowed 2 home runs in each start resulting in two loses and a 5.85 ERA. Santana has allowed two home runs in 6 of his last 8 starts.
The Mariners turn to Eric Bedard (3-4, 3.47 ERA) to get them back on track. Although he only has 3 wins to show for his effort, the Mariners have a 7-1 record in Bedard's previous 8 starts. The left-hander has compile a 1.93 ERA in that span, while striking out 48 in 51.1 innings.
