Angels Vs. Mariners: Dan Haren Opens Road Trip In Seattle

The reeling Angels look to turn things around on their longest road trip of the season, beginning Monday night in Seattle. The Angels were 2-7 on their nine-game homestand, but now head out of the road to face Seattle, then three interleague series against the Mets, Marlins, and Dodgers. Dan Haren gets the start for the Angels on Monday, while Jason Vargas gets the call for Seattle.

Haren is 5-4 this season with a 2.41 ERA in 14 games, 13 starts. However, Haren has one just once in his last nine starts, despite a 3.03 ERA. Apple Valley native Jason Vargas is 4-3 with a 3.94 ERA in 13 starts in Seattle this season. Vargas pitched seven scoreless innings in a win over the Angels on May 18.

Before tonight's game, the Angles placed relief pitcher Fernando Rodney on the disabled list, and recalled Bobby Cassevah from Triple A Salt Lake City, per Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times. Rodney, who has an upper back strain, stayed in Los Angeles to meet with team doctor Lewis Yocum. Here are tonight's starting lineups:
