The Angels snapped their six-game losing streak on Saturday night, and look for a second straight win on Sunday against the Royals in Anaheim. Rookie Tyler Chatwood gets the start for the Angels, looking for his fourth win of the season. Vin Mazzaro gets the start for Kansas City.
Chatwood is 3-3 this season with a 3.79 ERA. In seven starts at home, Chatwood is 2-2 with a 3.22 ERA, compared to 1-1 with a 4.73 ERA on the road. He has pitched seven or more innings in three of his last four starts, with a collective 2.63 ERA.
Mazzaro is making only his fourth appearance of the season, and third start. Mazzaro had a relief appearance for the ages last month, a "take one for the team appearance" that saw him allow 14 runs in 2 1/3 innings against the Indians on May 16. In two starts, Mazzaro has an 8.00 ERA which is by far his best split.
