After a tough loss Thursday night, the Dodgers look to rebound Friday night in the second game of a four-game series at Coors Field in Colorado. Chad Billingsley takes the hill for the Dodgers, looking for his fourth straight win. Jhoulys Chacin gets the call for the Rockies, having already shut down the Dodgers once at Coors Field this season.
The Dodgers held a 7-3 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning with their ace, Clayton Kershaw, on the mound last night, but imploded with a 38-minute, 11-batter, five-run Rockies' outburst which vaulted Colorado into the lead for good. The Dodgers are 0-3 in Colorado this season. One of those losses went to Billingsley, on April 6.
Billingsley has won his last three starts, thanks in part to offensive support. After the Dodgers scored just three runs total in a four-start stretch for Billingsley, they have scored 21 runs in his last three outings. Billingsley himself helped in his last start with a home run,a double, and a bases loaded walk. He is hitting .304/.385/.565 this season with a team-high four extra-base hits.
Chacin pitched seven scoreless innings to beat the Dodgers at Coors Field on April 5, and he is 6-4 with a 3.19 ERA this season. However, the 23-year old right-hander has allowed 14 runs in 19 innings in his last three home starts, all losses for the Rockies.
Tonight's 5:40 p.m. PDT game will be televised by Prime Ticket. For more news and information on the Dodgers, or on tonight's game, be sure to read the SB Nation blog True Blue LA.
