LA Galaxy To Host UEFA Champions League Semi-Finalist Real Madrid

Once again, this summer the Los Angeles Galaxy will be playing host to Real Madrid as they begin their preparations for the 2011-2012 European football season. The match will take place July 16th, and this time the Coliseum will host the Champion’s League semi-finalists, as opposed to the Rose Bowl which played host last year. Real Madrid lost to Barcelona on aggregate this past fortnight; Barcelona will now play Manchester United in the Champion’s League Final.

This adds the LA Galaxy to a growing list of MLS teams participating in the World Football Challenge. Manchester United will be playing the New England Revolution and Chicago Fire, while Manchester City will be traveling to play the Vancouver Whitecaps.
