The Angels have alternated wins and losses in their last seven games, but hope to break that trend Monday afternoon as they battle the Royals on Memorial Day in Kansas City. Ervin Santana gets the start for the Angels, in search of his third straight win, while Luke Hochevar gets the call for Kansas City. This is the Angels' second trip to Kansas City this year, as they opened their season losing three of four games at Kauffman Stadium.
Santana is 3-4 with a 3.95 ERA in 11 starts this season. He has won his last two starts, allowing just one run in his last 15 innings. Santana allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings in Kansas City on April 2, but got a no-decision in a game won in come-from-behind fashion by Kansas City in the eighth inning.
Hochevar is 3-5 with a 4.81 ERA this season, and leads the American League with 13 home runs allowed. The Royals have lost 12 of their last 15 games, and have lost six of their last eight contests at home. The Angels have not won consecutive games since beating the Braves then A's by 4-1 scores on May 22 and 23.
Today's 1:10 p.m. PDT game will be televised by Fox Sports West. For more news and information about the Angels, or on today's game, be sure to read the SB Nation blog Halos Heaven.
