Angels Vs. Twins: Jered Weaver Looks For First Win Of May

The Angels moved back into first place with Friday's comeback win in Minnesota, and look to capture their second win of the series Saturday in a prime time game on Fox. Jered Weaver gets the call for the Angels, looking for his seventh win of the season. Anthony Swarzak gets the call for the Twins.

Minnesota built a 5-0 lead after seven innings last night, but the Angels stunned the Twins with a five-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Angels sent nine men to the plate against three Twins' relievers, the highlight of the inning a three-run home run by Erick Aybar. Then, after Peter Bourjos leadoff the ninth with a triple, Maicer Izturis drove him in with a single for the final 6-5 margin.

Weaver is 6-4 with a 2.35 ERA this season in 11 starts. He was 6-0 with an 0.99 ERA in April, but is 0-4 with a 4.35 ERA in May. He allowed just one run in seven innings Monday against Oakland, but got a no-decision. Swarzak is 0-2 with a 7.71 ERA this season for Minnesota.

Tonight's 4:10 p.m. PDT game will be televised on Fox. For more news and information on tonight's game, or on the Angels, be sure to read the SB Nation blog Halos Heaven.
