Interleague Play, Angels Vs. Braves: Joel Pineiro Looks For Second Straight Win Over Atlanta

The Angels look for their second win in as many nights on Saturday as they host the Atlanta Braves in Anaheim, in the second game of a three-game series. Joel Pineiro gets the start for the Angels, making his fifth start of the season. The right-hander is 2-0 with a 1.98 ERA so far this season.

Tommy Hanson gets the start for the Braves, who have lost three straight. Hanson is 5-3 with a 2.35 ERA in nine starts this season. The Angels beat Atlanta in the opener Friday night 9-0, behind a four-hit shutout by Ervin Santana. Mark Trumbo had three hits and a home run, and both Trumbo and Alberto Callaspo drove in three runs Friday night.

At 50-23, the Angels have the best interleague record in baseball since the start of the 2007 season. The Angels are 10-10 this season at home. The Braves are 11-12 on the road this year. Beginning play tonight, the Angels are a half-game behind Texas for first place in the American League West.
