Angels Look To Ruin Jake Peavy's Season Debut, Win Series With Chicago

Chicago White Sox starter Jake Peavy makes his season debut Wednesday night in Anaheim against the Los Angeles Angels.  Peavy had surgery to reconnect the lat muscle on his pitching shoulder 10 months ago, a surgery that has never before been done to a major league pitcher.  Prior to his injury, Peavy had gone 7-6 with a 4.64 in 17 starts for the White Sox (14-23), his worst season since breaking in with San Diego Padres in 2002.

Taking the hill for the Angels will be rookie right-hander Tyler Chatwood (2-1, 4.08 ERA).  In his last start, Chatwood went 8 innings, giving up one run on 2 hits against the Cleveland Indians.

Wednesday night's game is the final game of the Angels 6-game home stand. The Angels took 2 of 3 from Cleveland and have split the first two games of their 3-game series with Chicago.  Friday night will find the Halos in Texas to face the Rangers for three games before heading to Oakland and Seattle for 2 games apiece against their division rivals.
