Joel Pineiro, Angels Look To Even Series Against Chicago Tuesday Night

Joel Pineiro looks to have the same success in his 2011 Angels Stadium debut has he had in his previous start at Fenway Park.  In his last outing, the second since coming off the disabled list after suffer shoulder tightness out of spring training, Pineiro (1-0, 0.71 ERA) went 5.2 innings without allowing a run to the Red Sox.  Although the right-hander walked 4 batters, he was able to induce 3 double plays to hold the Sox scoreless.  Pineiro was successful last season when pitching in Anaheim, as he went 7-2 with a 2.18 ERA in 13 starts.

Taking the hill for Chicago Tuesday night will be left-hander John Danks (0-5, 3.83 ERA) who is still looking for his first win in 2011.  Danks is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in 4 starts against the Angels.

On Monday, the Angels sent outfielder Vernon Wells to the disabled list with a strained right groin, an injury he suffered in the fourth inning of the Angels' 8-0 loss to Chicago.  Taking Wells' spot on the Halo roster is Reggie Willits who was recalled from Salt Lake City.
