The Los Angeles Angels look to rebound from last night's loss to the Toronto Blue Jays by sending a fresh new arm to the mound Saturday night. Taking the hill for the Angels will be Matt Palmer, who was recalled from Triple A Salt Lake today, replacing Scott Kazmir. Kazmir was placed on the 15-day disabled list with lower back soreness, retroactive to April 4.
Palmer was 1-2 with a 4.54 ERA in 14 appearances with the Angels in 2010, including one start. He missed 76 games on the disabled list with an acute sprain of the right sternoclavicular joint. This is his first appearance with the Angels this season.
Brett Cecil gets the start for the Blue Jays, his second of the season. Angels starters have six quality starts in seven games, and have a collective 2.75 ERA. Here is tonight's Angels lineup:
Maicer Izturis SS
Howie Kendrick 2B
Bobby Abreu DH
Torii Hunter RF
Vernon Wells LF
Alberto Callaspo 3B
Mark Trumbo 1B
Jeff Mathis C
Peter Bourjos CF
Tonight's 6:05 p.m. PDT game will be televised by KCOP.
