Pau Gasol Expected To Play Tonight As Lakers Host Jazz

After having their nine-game winning streak snapped on Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers look to get back on track tonight hosting the Utah Jazz at Staples Center. The Lakers, who beat the Jazz in Utah on Friday, have beaten the Jazz nine straight times in Los Angeles. Utah has lost eight straight games.

Pau Gasol had an MRI on his right knee on Monday, but there is nothing serious, as he is day-to-day with a bone bruise in his knee. He is expected to play tonight, as is Andrew Bynum, who also tweaked his knee on Sunday but is fine and not even listed on the injury report.

The Lakers play back-to-back games, tonight against Utah and Wednesday night in Golden State against the Warriors. The Lakers are 9-4 in the first game of back-to-back games this season, and are 11-2 on the second night. At 17-2, the Lakers currently have the best post-All-Star break winning percentage (.895) in NBA history, narrowly ahead of the Jazz in 1996-1997, who were 31-4 (.886) after the break.
