Garland, Dodgers Open Series In Florida Against Nolasco, Marlins

The Dodgers have won six of their last eight games, and look to keep their winning road trip going with a three-game series in Florida against the Marlins, who have won eight of their last 10. Jon Garland, who allowed just one run in a complete game win in his last start, Wednesday against Atlanta, starts for the Dodgers in Monday's series opener. Ricky Nolasco gets the start for the Marlins.

The Dodgers offense has come alive of late. After averaging just 3.17 runs per game in their first 18 games this season, the Dodgers have scored 43 runs in their last five games, all since MLB announced its plans to take over the day-to-day operations of the club. The Dodgers scored five runs in a game just four times in their first 18 games, but have scored five runs in all five games since.

Andre Ethier has a 21-game hitting streak, during which he is hitting .407/.478/.580. It is the longest streak in MLB this season. Catcher Dioner Navarro is expected to be activated from the disabled list at some point during this series, perhaps as soon as Monday. Tonight's 4:10 p.m. PDT game will be televised by KCAL.
