Galaxy Leave Canada With a Point, Draw 0-0

The season may be young, but the Los Angeles Galaxy have already begun to show signs of frustration. Already missing captain Landon Donovan with a knee knock, the Galaxy lost two more players over the course of the game last night. David Beckham will be suspended for the next match due to yellow card accumulation, and Juninho will also miss the next match picking up a red card from two yellows. If Landon Donovan doesn't fly out to Chicago tonight, the Galaxy will be without three of their starting midfielders when they go up against the Chicago Fire and close out the road trip. Beckham and Juninho are the third and fourth suspensions for the Galaxy, respectively, in a season which has only seen six games.

David Beckham had arguably the best chance of the night. In the 70', after Juninho suffered a foul outside the box, David Beckham's free kick bounced hard off the post. Chad Barrett, formerly of Toronto FC, had a 13' shot slam into the crossbar. There were five shots on goal, three for the Galaxy and two for Toronto but neither team really made the keeper work. Juan Pablo Angel had a shot in the first minute which Stefan Frei had to fall to his left to save. Angel found himself with the ball six yards out and shot right away though he may have had a better shot with a longer touch.

The game was the third straight 0-0 draw between the LA Galaxy and Toronto FC. For the most part the scoreline reflects what happened on the pitch, no real advantage gained by either team. The Galaxy face Chicago on Sunday at 1pm PST then come back to Home Depot Center to go up against the Portland Timbers for the first time in MLS history.
