Clippers End Regular Season With Memphis, While Grizzlies Could Stay In L.A. Awhile

The Los Angeles Clippers close out their 2010-2011 season Wednesday night with a home contest with the playoff-bound Memphis Grizzlies. There is a chance that Memphis will stay in Los Angeles for the next week or so, as they could end up facing the Lakers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

The Grizzlies are tied with New Orleans for the No. 7 seed, at 46-35. The Hornets hold the tiebreaker, so Memphis needs a win tonight, and a Hornets loss in Dallas to secure the No. 7 seed. The Lakers are fighting for the No. 2 seed themselves, so the Grizzlies and Lakers could matchup as soon as this weekend when the NBA playoffs begin.

For the Clippers, they look to win their 23rd home game of the season, and send the fans home happy looking forward to more growth next season. Blake Griffin also has an outside chance at a statistical goal. Griffin needs 21 rebounds to hit 1,000 for the season, which would make him the first Clipper with 1,000 rebounds since Swen Nater in 1980-81.

Tonight's 7:30 p.m. PDT game will be televised on both Fox Sports West and ESPN.
