Billingsley, Dodgers Face Tough Test In Lincecum, Giants

The Los Angeles Dodgers will send Chad Billingsley to the mound Tuesday night at AT&T Park in San Francisco, trying to win their fifth game in six tries against the Giants this season, but they will have to contend with Tim Lincecum. Lincecum has made four career starts against the Dodgers at home, and the Giants have won all four games. However, Billingsley has pitched exceptionally well in San Francisco, with a 2.20 ERA in eight starts at AT&T Park.

The Dodgers will place Rafael Furcal on the disabled list today, after their shortstop and leadoff hitter broke his left thumb sliding into third base on Monday night. The team is expected to recall Ivan DeJesus to take Furcal's active spot on the roster, though Jamey Carroll figures to play regularly at shortstop. Furcal is expected to miss up to six weeks.

Matt Kemp has reached base in 13 of his last 19 plate appearances, and is hitting a robust .441/.537/.647. During that span, which covers the last four games plus Kemp's final at-bat in Colorado, Kemp has also hit two doubles and stolen six bases without getting caught.

Tonight's 7:15 p.m. PDT game will be televised by KCAL.
