The 36th annual Big West Men's Basketball Tournament will be held from Thursday to Saturday at Honda Center in Anaheim. The tournament semifinals will be televised by ESPNU, and the finals are on ESPN2. The Long Beach State 49ers are the top seed, and finished their season on a nine-game winning streak. Long Beach St. is 20-10 on the season, and their 14-2 record in conference play was four games better than the second-place squad, the Cal Poly Mustangs.
Eight of the nine teams in the conference qualified for the tournament, with only UC Davis on the outside looking in. The bracket gets reseeded after Thursday's quarterfinals. Here is an overview of the bracket (all times PST):
Thursday, March 10
12 p.m.: No. 1 Long Beach St. (20-10, 14-2) vs. No. 8 UC Irvine (13-18, 6-10)
30 minutes after completion: No. 4 Pacific (16-14, 8-8) vs. No. 5 UC Santa Barbara (15-13, 8-8)
6 p.m.: No. 2 Cal Poly (15-14, 10-6) vs. No. 7 UC Riverside (11-18, 6-10)
30 minutes after completion: No. 3 Cal State Northridge (13-17, 9-7) vs. No. 6 Cal State Fullerton (11-19, 7-9)
Friday, March 11
6:30 p.m.: Highest remaining seed vs. Lowest remaining seed, on ESPNU
30 minutes after completion: Other two Thursday winners, on ESPNU
Saturday, March 12
5 p.m.: Championship Game, on ESPN2
