Clippers Host Celtics Looking To Slay Another First-Place Team At Staples Center

The Los Angeles Clippers are finally done with their grueling 11-game road trip. Now, as a reward, they have to face the team with the second-best record in the NBA, the Boston Celtics, tonight at Staples Center. Blake Griffin and the Clippers played in their home building last night, but they were technically the road team in their 108-95 loss to the Lakers. This is the Clippers' first home game since February 2, a full 24 days ago.

The Clippers have played giant killer this season, especially at home. They have defeated five of the six NBA teams currently in first place, with only the Celtics eluding their wrath. Today is the first meeting between the two teams this season, with another meeting scheduled in Boston on March 9. Here's a look at the other first-place teams beaten by the Clippers this season:

The Celtics are 4-4 in their last eight games, losing their last game Thursday night against the Carmelo-less Nuggets in Denver. The Clippers are 16-14 at home this season, while the Celtics are 16-10 on the road. Tonight's 7:30 p.m. PST game will be televised on Prime Ticket.
