Kings Continue Homestand Against Struggling Avalanche

The Los Angels Kings have been hot of late, and look to continue their climb in the Western Conference standings hosting the plummeting Colorado Avalanche at Staples Center. The Kings, forced away from home as the Grammy's took over L.A., returned home from a 10-game road trip with a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. Tonight is the second game of a six-game homestand for the Kings, and here are the pertinent details of today's game:

  • Teams: Kings (34-23-4) vs. Avalanche (26-28-7)
  • Time: 1 p.m. PST
  • Location: Staples Center, downtown Los Angeles
  • Standings: Kings, 72 points (5th in West, four points behind San Jose for division lead and third seed); Avalanche, 59 points (15th in West)
