NBA All-Star Weekend: Three-Point Contest Headlined By All-Time Three-Point Leader Ray Allen

NBA All-Star Weekend would be incomplete without a little long distance shooting. The third event tonight at Staples Center is the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout. The event might be in Los Angeles, but the field is highlighted by two Boston Celtics, in Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, and fellow All-Star Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Here are tonight's six contestants:

Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout Contestants
Player Team 3-Pt Made 3-Pt %
Ray Allen
Celtics 121 45.7%
Kevin Durant Thunder 91 33.8%
Daniel Gibson
Cavaliers 86 44.3%
James Jones
Heat 93 42.3%
Paul Pierce Celtics 75 38.5%
Dorell Wright
Warriors 135 40.1%

Pierce won last year's three-point shootout, while Allen won in 2001, when he was with Milwaukee. Allen earlier this month became the all-time NBA leader in three-point shots made, passing Reggie Miller. Wright leads the NBA this season with 135 three-point field goals made.

The contest consists of two rounds. Each contestant will have one minute to make as many three-pointers as possible from five different stations. Each station has five balls, with the final "money ball" worth two points. The players with the top three scores from the first round will advance to the final round.
