Northern Trust Open 2011: Jarrod Lyle Leads After Hot Start At Riviera

Just about half of the field has teed off at the first round of the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club, so this is a god opportunity to update the leader board. A very early lay of the land, if you will.

I'm going to type this as fast as I possibly can, because by the time it publishes, and definitely by the time you read it, the leader board is likely going to be very different.

Jerrod Lyle, a relatively young golfer from Australia, is in the lead early after an incredibly hot start. He has two birdies and an eagle through his first six holes, and his -4 is tied with John Senden for the lead. The sentence was structured that way because as I was typing that Lyle was in the lead, Senden eagled his 13th hole of the day to jump up to the top of the leader board. They have a one stroke lead over PGA tour mainstay Chris DiMarco.

Paddy Harrington, who had a very difficult 2010 season, is just two shots back at -2. A good sign that he has gotten his swing, and his thought back in order for the 2011 campaign.

We'll be updating this stream throughout the day with the latest scores and news, so check back as often as you can (literally like every five minutes) so you don't miss any of the action.
