The Loyola Maymount Lions coasted to an easy win on Saturday night over the former Division III La Sierra University Golden Eagles, who play out of Riverside. When all was said and done, the Lions had picked up an easy 87-45 win to improve their record to 5-3 overall, with a 3-3 record at home.
The SoCal matchup was as lopsided as expected from the outset, as Loyola Marymount broke out to an early 49-22 lead in the first half and never looked back.
Lions forward C.J. Blackwell led all scorers with 21 points, also picking up eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and three blocks. Tim Diederichs scored 16 points, LaRon Armstead added 12 and Quincy Lawson scored 12 as well, also adding seven rebounds and three steals. The four forwards combined for 61 of Loyola Marymount's 87 points.
The Lions will next take on the North Texas Mean Green on Sunday, December 4.
