MLS SuperDraft 2012: UCLA Underclassmen Sign To Generation Adidas Class

UCLA Bruins Men's Soccer has a proud tradition in the MLS SuperDraft; with four players in the 2012 MLS combine and two more signing to Generation Adidas today, that tradition is likely to continue. Kelyn Rowe, whose led UCLA to the College Cup Semi-Finals, and forward Chandler Hoffman whose 18 goals led the squad and the Pac-12 both signed as part of Generation Adidas class of 2012. Generation Adidas players are allowed to train with MLS clubs, and are given scholarship grants. When they sign with an MLS club, they do not count against the salary cap budget.

Hoffman was named to the All Pac-12 first team this season and a NSCAA third team All-American. Rowe earned Pac-12 player of the year honors after scoring six goals and contributing 10 assists. He earned his second invite to US U-23 camp after time at the U-18 and U-20 levels. The U-23 team will comprise most of next year's Olympic squad.

Luis Silva, a Los Angeles native at UC Santa Barbara and a first team NSCAA All-American was one of four players announced today who had signed MLS Contracts and would participate in the MLS combine and enter the 2012 MLS SuperDraft. The SuperDraft will take place January 12th in Kansas City and will be broadcast live on ESPN2 at 9am PST.
