Pepperdine Vs. CSUN Basketball: Northridge Wins 73-70 For First Road Win Of Season

Stephan Hicks scored 18 points to lead the Cal State Northridge Matadors over the Pepperdine Waves 73-70 Saturday night at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu. It was just the second win of the season for CSUN, who picked up their first road victory of the season in six attempts.

Both teams shot well from distance on Saturday night. The Matadors hit seven of their 17 three-point attempts (41.2%), while the Waves made nine of 20 (45.0%) from beyond the arc. Joshua Lowery hit three of those three-pointers for Pepperdine and led the Waves with 17 points.

The Waves outrebounded the Matadors 34-26 for the game and held a six-point lead at halftime, but CSUN came out firing in the second half. The Matadors shot 61.9% from the field (13 for 21), including five of eight from three-point range in the final 20 minutes, during which they outscored Pepperdine 49-40. Aqeel Quinn scored 17 points off the bench for CSUN, on just seven field goal attempts.

Center Corbin Moore scored 10 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Waves in defeat. Pepperdine has a full week off before hosting Montana State on Sunday, December 18.
