The UCLA Bruins close out the first half of their Pac-10 schedule with a road tilt against the Arizona State Sun Devils at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe. UCLA will try to rebound from Thursday's 85-74 loss in Tucson to Arizona, while Arizona State is looking for their first conference home win of the season. The Bruins are 23-10 all-time in Tempe, though they lost there last season.
Sophomore forward Reeves Nelson shook off a sprained left ankle to score 24 points and grab 10 rebounds Thursday against Arizona. Nelson leads the Bruins in scoring (14.5 points per game) and rebounding (8.1 rebounds per game) this season. Ty Abbott, who scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds Thursday against USC, leads the Sun Devils in scoring this season at 14.2 points per game this season. Trent Lockett averages 13.7 points and 5.4 rebounds for ASU.
UCLA has struggled this season shooting from distance, making just 30.5% of their three-point attempts in Pac-10 play. The Bruins made two of 15 three-pointers on Thursday against Arizona. The Sun Devils have allowed conference opponents to make 34.8% from beyond the arc.
