Surging Clippers In Search Of Road Win In Dallas

After picking up their seventh straight win at Staples Center on Saturday against Golden State, the Los Angeles Clippers head to Dallas tonight in search of a rare road win. The Clippers are a hot team, winning 12 of their last 17 games, but only five of those games have been on the road. The Clippers are 3-2 in their last five road games, but are just 3-13 on the road this season.

The Clippers' signature road win this season was in Chicago, picking up a one-point win over a Bulls team that now has the fifth-best record in the NBA. The Mavericks have struggled of late, dropping 10 of their last 14, although most of that free fall came without Dirk Nowitzki. Since the giant German returned to the lineup, Dallas is 3-2, although they are not playing anywhere near like the team that started the season 24-5.

Eric Gordon is still nursing a torn tendon in his right finger, and problems with his back and wrist stemming from a fall on Saturday, but you wouldn't know it from his play of late. Gordon has scored 20 or more points in his last nine games, and is eighth in the NBA averaging 24.1 points per game. Gordon is tied for sixth in the league with 32 games of 20 or more points.

Blake Griffin's next slam dunk will be his 100th of the season, which leads the NBA. The Clippers have lost seven straight games to the Mavericks, and have also lost their last seven contests in Dallas. The last win for the Clippers in Dallas came on April 19, 2006.
