Anaheim Ducks Head North To Battle Vancouver Canucks

The Anaheim Ducks play their fourth preseason game tonight, traveling north to Vancouver to battle the Canucks. The Ducks are 2-1-0 this preseason, having defeated the San Jose Sharks twice in the past three nights. Vancouver is seeking its first preseason win after starting 0-3-0.

Corey Perry leads the Ducks this preseason with four goals scored, after his hat trick last night. Ryan Getzlaf has a goal and five assists for the Ducks. Although don't necessarily expect to see them on the ice tonight. Per Arthur from Anaheim Calling:

No word on the lineup as of yet, but Randy Carlyle will probably look to insert some fresh legs into the lineup on the tail end of back-to-backs.  That could mean the first preseason action for Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu, who would be looking to build some chemistry (not necessarily with each other) going into this season after feeling the fizzle of last season.  It could also mean more ice time for wunderkind Cam Fowler, whose window at becoming an out-of-the-box NHLer is shrinking from minute to minute of ice time.

Speaking of Fowler, Ducks Executive Vice President and General Manager Bob Murray had this to say yesterday about his young defenseman:

The biggest thing with Cam, and it’s something you can’t teach a young defenseman, is his poise and confidence with the puck. It’s his ability to read and see things in front of him as he has the puck and not panic. He just makes the little plays that 10-year veterans make. He has to get stronger. He knows that because that is going to be his tough area on the road some nights. The matchup is not going to be right and he has to fight through it. So far, he appears very willing to battle whenever he has to battle.

Tonight's game starts at 7:00 p.m.
