Offensive Outburst Leads Ducks Over Sharks, 5-2

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) – Danny Syvret and Ryan Getzlaf scored 18 seconds apart in the second period, as the Anaheim Ducks beat the San Jose Sharks, 5-2, in preseason action.

Corey Perry, Jason Blake and Aaron Voros also tallied for the Ducks. Jonas Hiller started in goal for Anaheim and turned away all 19 shots he faced before he was replaced midway through the contest by Timo Pielmeier, who made 19 saves in relief.

Torrey Mitchell and Taylor Doherty both scored for the Sharks. Antero Niittymaki played 40 minutes and stopped 8-of-12 shots for San Jose, while Alex Stalock finished with five saves.
