L.A. Sports To Watch On TV On Saturday

Today is chock full of sports to watch on television, the first full day of the fall, even though it is still technically summer. Here is what to watch today on TV:

↵

12 p.m.: Prime 9: Top Broadcasters (MLB Network)
The best baseball broadcasters ever are ranked, and Vin Scully receives royal treatment, and rightfully so.

↵

1 p.m.:  Braveheart (TNT)
Just in case you were having trouble getting fired up for tonight's full slate of sports action, you can watch Mel Gibson when he was the right kind of crazy.

↵

4 p.m.:  Dodgers at Astros (KCAL, Channel 9)
John Ely makes his first start for the Dodgers since July 10, trying to recapture some of that early season "ElyMania."

↵

6 p.m.:  Mariners at Angels (Fox Sports West)
The Angels get to take on King Felix Hernandez, who has given up a total of one earned run over his last six starts, a span of 45 innings.

↵

7:30 p.m.: Stanford at UCLA (ESPN)
The Bruins have their home opener against a Stanford team that hasn't beaten UCLA at the Rose Bowl since 1996

↵

7:30 p.m.: Virginia at USC (Prime Ticket)
The Trojans play their first home game as well, hoping for a better defensive performance than they had at Hawaii.

↵

9:30 p.m.: Columbus Crew at L.A. Galaxy (Fox Sports West, tape delay)
It's always a bit jarring to see a game on tape delay in this day and age, but here we are with the MLS. The soccer match starts at 7:30 p.m., but will be televised on delay once the Angels' game is done.

There you have it: a full slate of sports today on TV. Kick back, order a pizza, enjoy a few cold beverages, and enjoy.
